Verdens Ende – «The World’s End»
Last updated:Verdens Ende is located at the southern tip of Tjøme outside Tønsberg. From here you get a majestic view of the horizon and Færder National Park. Verdens Ende is probably best known for its tilting lighthouse, which was built from pebbles collected from Tjøme’s beaches in 1932.
How to get to the end of the world
By car: Verdens Ende has several car parks for a fee. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Tønsberg town centre. Verdens Ende is easy to reach for young, old and disabled people.
By bus: From Tønsberg you can take Line 02 (Hvasser) to Sundene. There you change to Line 022 which takes you all the way to Verdens Ende. You can find the timetables in the journey planner at www.vkt.no or call Ruteopplysningen 177.
With your own boat: Verdens Ende Guest Harbour has its own breakwater sheltered from the waves, and a modern service building for boat tourists.
Boat trip from Verdens Ende to Færder Lighthouse: Experience the fantastic archipelago while enjoying a boat trip. If you want to book a taxi boat, Fjordtaxi will pick you up in Tønsberg, Verdens Ende or elsewhere in the archipelago all year round.

Outdoor area with views of the Skagerrak
There are excellent bathing conditions from the rocks and islets, especially for children, with a separate child-friendly bathing area. There is also a bathing platform designed for people with reduced mobility.
The large breakwater that connects the «mainland» with all the islets and skerries on the outside means that there is also a safe marina at Verdens Ende. And don’t think you can only come to Verdens Ende when the weather is nice. Take a trip when the sea is white on the outside, when the waves crash over the islets and reefs, and Færder Lighthouse and its flashes of light will make your visit an experience.

Visitor centre Færder National Park
Verdens Ende is part of Færder National Park. The Færder National Park Visitor Centre includes a shop, and on the second floor you can enjoy panoramic views of the national park. The centre also organises courses and various seminars, as well as guided tours.
The End of the World Eatery
Here you’ll get a fantastic view of the archipelago, the lighthouse and the horizon. Good food and drink can be enjoyed inside and out. In addition to the large patio, there is room for 85 guests inside. Verdens Ende Spiseriet serves light meals, main courses, desserts and party menus in addition to a fully licensed bar.

Climbing park and Via Ferrata with Aktiv Fritid Tjøme
Aktiv Fritid Tjøme offers bike hire, zipline, climbing and abseiling with Via Ferrata. Activities must be booked in advance for both individual guests and groups. A separate hammock park is available for guests in the climbing park for those who want to sleep under the stars.
Visit the coastal fort Torås Fort
During the summer season, the museum is open at weekends with its own museum café. The fort itself is open to visitors all year round outdoors. The disused coastal fort is now run by the Torås Fort Interest Group, which organises regular events and guided tours.
Kayaking
Kajakkpadling.no organises courses and trips throughout the year for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Kayaking among the islets and reefs in the Færder archipelago is a fantastic experience. You can also book a guided tour to suit your needs.
