Get around Holmestrand
Last updated:It's easy to get to Holmestrand and Sande. The train and bus stations are located in the town centre, and Sandefjord airport can be reached in less than an hour. By car, take the E18 four-lane motorway.
By train
Holmestrand train station is a new and modern station inside the mountain with universal design. The locals in Holmestrand use the Fjellheisen, which takes you 70 metres from the top of the mountain down to the station. In the middle of the town centre, you can enter the station at the south entrance. In Sande, you’ll find the train station close to the town centre.
With your own boat
Holmestrand marina is popular with boat tourists holidaying in the Oslofjord. The marina has a full range of facilities and is located in the town centre within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

By aeroplane
From Holmestrand, it’s about 30 minutes by car to Torp Sandefjord Airport, which is the nearest airport. To Gardermoen it takes 1.5 hours by car. From Sande, it takes about 50 minutes by car to Torp Sandefjord Airport, and 1.5 hours to Gardermoen.
