      Stange Gjestegård

Event venues and accommodation in a rural setting.

In the heart of Vestfold’s cultural landscape, you’ll find Stange Gjestegård – a place where history meets tranquility, nature, and modern comfort. The estate stands on land that has witnessed some of Norway’s most significant historical events, including the Battles of Re in 1163 and 1177 – defining moments in the country’s medieval history.

Getting here is easy. Just a 15-minute drive from Tønsberg, it’s a unique and accessible destination for both events and overnight stays.

A place to gather – or to unwind
Stange Gjestegård offers facilities for both small and large gatherings, conferences, or a მშვიდ weekend retreat surrounded by nature. Dining can be arranged, from simple meals to full banquet menus, tapas, or cold buffets. See the website for menus.

The function venue, designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Snøhetta, gives Stange Gjestegård a modern yet timeless aesthetic through its innovative design.

The Green Room features one double bed and a sofa bed, accommodating up to 4 guests.
The Tower Room accommodates up to 3 guests.

      The Labyrinth
The property’s most unique attraction is its circular labyrinth, created as a living tribute to the Battles of Re.
450 meters long. 7 circles. 1,163 spruce trees.
Designed by landscape architect Rainer Stange, it is both a striking visual feature and an experience in itself.

      Walking trails
There are established walking paths leading to nearby streams and the Ramnes River, which features a fish ladder and the historic Mølledam dam dating back to the 1500s. In recent years, hardwood trees have been planted to create a local park area. Benches and a bathing ladder are available, and Mølledam serves as a gathering place for the local community.
